Recently, an email dropped in my inbox from Brent Handler, CEO of Inspirato. It was an email to all members and Passholders announcing that Inspirato had secured the entirety of the Casa Palmero Resort in Pebble Beach from now until January 20th, 2021. That’s right, Casa Palmero is available exclusively to Inspirato members for the next three and a half months!

Kudos to Inspirato for continuing to innovate and create unique value for its members. I never saw this one coming; the complete takeover of an amazing boutique hotel at one of the most desirable destinations on the planet. As a member, I love seeing this! Of course, I naturally want to figure out how to get up to Pebble Beach ASAP, but this also leads me to ponder all of the future opportunities out there that this could lead to. You know how many incredible little boutique hotels there are across the world? Imagine if Inspirato did this periodically across a variety of destinations that we’d all love to visit. Wow, I can’t wait to see what might be next, especially as more of the world opens up to travel in the coming months (well, hopefully at least!). But, I don’t want to get too far ahead of things here…
As incredibly beautiful and amazing both this destination and property are, the value for Inspirato members is even better! As an example, I’ll just use one available reservation for Inspirato Pass that I noticed up on the site today. And by the way, I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat, but I’m two days out from a 5-night trip to the Buckhorn residence in Aspen with Inspirato (can’t wait!). Okay, so here’s just one of the reservations that was up today and available to any Inspirato Pass holder (and I just checked, it’s still available at the time of writing!).

Let me break down the math on the value here. My mind is still reeling at this opportunity. I almost wish I wasn’t a member so that I could join and grab this one! 😆 Anyway…
- 7 nights in a Casa Palmero Courtyard Suite
- Published nightly rate is $1,780
- Trip value is $12,460 (which would probably be closer to $14,000 with taxes and fees)
- Actual cost to current Inspirato Pass holder would be $1,066 (13 days of Pass x $82/day)
- That is an 11.7x value to cost. Yes, for real!
- And if you’re considering joining Inspirato Pass and pay the $2,500 initiation fee along with your first month payment, you’ll still get a 3.5x value to cost. Good grief, if there was ever a time to join Inspirato, it’s now!
- You absolutely cannot find value like this on any other platform, club, or service. Believe me, I actually look into these things.
I return from Aspen on October 18, and I will be tempted to jump on a reservation to Casa Palmero for our next trip with Inspirato. However, we have a Senior in high school this year. Our trips the next few months (and much of our lives in general for that matter) are centered around college applications and campus visits, and unfortunately there is no Pebble Beach University just yet! That being the case, after Aspen, we’ll most likely be heading to Santa Barbara with Inspirato. We live in Orange County and Gabby wants to stay somewhat close to home. It looks like she’ll most likely be off to UCSD or USD in San Diego (we’ve already done those campus visits), or UCSB or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, both a bit to the north of us. There are a few more options in the mix, but those are the leading candidates. She’s looking at a couple of schools in Washington and Arizona as well, so we’ll probably add in a Christmas break trip with Inspirato to one of those spots. Casa Palmero may just need to wait until January. Or, can my wife and I perhaps sneak in a quick weekend away to celebrate our 21st anniversary in Pebble Beach later this month? Who knows? We’ll see! The good news is that there is no shortage of options.

I’m so impressed (and encouraged as a member) with the temporary full acquisition of Casa Palmero by Inspirato. This could open up a whole new world of possibilities. These smaller boutique properties have unique challenges in driving occupancy. This type of arrangement with Inspirato could be a win-win in the future for a number of small resorts similar to Casa Palmero. I, for one, sure hope that this proves to be the case.
All that to say, if you’re yet to join Inspirato, this is a perfect time to do so. There is zero risk now that you can cancel at any time with no long term committment. And, you’ll come out of the gates way ahead of the game on value with deals like this at Casa Palmero. Join Inspirato Pass today!

Now, as you start looking into Casa Palmero reservations, I’m going to go start packing my bags for Aspen. The Buckhorn residence looks incredible. It’s right in town and walkable to everything. Here’s a peak at the home…

Happy and Safe Travels my friends!
As always, please say hello if you have any questions or comments. I love hearing from you all. Thanks!

Can’t wait to stroll through that entry during Inspirato’s exclusive lease out
Great right-up. Makes me want to join.
